The metabolism – This is how it works!

Metabolism is the powerhouse of our body – it turns food into energy that we need for everything from breathing to exercise. In the process, it breaks down old cells, builds new ones and produces important substances such as hormones and enzymes.

A well-functioning metabolism helps us burn calories and maintain our weight. But factors such as stress, poor sleep and poor nutrition can throw them out of balance. Fortunately, there are ways to boost it again so that you feel fitter and can rid yourself of excess pounds.

The body uses energy for this

The body's total energy expenditure is divided into three different areas:

Resting energy consumption

We consume energy for all bodily functions, e.g. for breathing, to maintain our blood circulation and for the activity of organs. Even if we are just lying in bed, many metabolic processes take place in our cells that consume energy. In summary, these processes are called resting energy expenditure.

Digestion

After lunch, do you feel like taking a digestive nap? The sudden fatigue comes from the fact that our body needs quite a lot of energy to digest a large meal. Digestive juices are produced in the stomach and intestines and mixed with our food through constant movement. A lot of energy is needed to digest macro-nutrients, particularly proteins.

Physical activity

Of course, we can also increase our energy expenditure by being active and, for example, by boosting fat burning through exercise. Furthermore, if we build muscle through sports, muscle consumes more energy than fat, even at rest - so with more muscles we can increase our resting energy expenditure and thus make it easier for us to lose weight. This is exactly where Almased comes in!

The three different parts of your metabolism and energy expenditure can stimulate you in different ways. We will show you the most effective strategies!

Optimising the metabolism with nutrition

Nutrition provides all the important ingredients which can then be processed in the metabolism and contribute to our health. An important factor is, for example, proteins. They stimulate the metabolism and are important for our muscles. Muscle cells, in turn, use fats and free sugars for energy, helping to maintain a healthy metabolism and weight.

In addition to protein-rich foods, healthy plant substances and fibre are also important for a balanced metabolism. A plant-rich diet with a lot of protein is a particular way to lose weight healthily and at the same time provide your body with all the important nutrients. Our tip: Legumes such as lentils, chickpeas or soybeans combine plant power with a high protein content!

Almased's special formula also provides healthy secondary plant substances from soya and high-quality protein from skimmed milk yogurt. In combination with our active honey enzymes, a healthy shake is created that helps to stimulate the metabolism.

The most important thing: Don't go hungry!

A negative energy balance is crucial for successful weight loss. But losing weight by starving is almost always counterproductive. In response, the body goes into energy-saving mode and slows down the metabolism. It holds onto every calorie to get what it needs. There is also a risk of deficiency symptoms, because with a reduced food and calorie intake, the body often does not get enough nutrients.

That's why it's important to focus on low-calorie but nutrient-rich foods during a diet. Almased offers you the perfect combination of a light meal and a high-quality supply of nutrients. This keeps your metabolism permanently active where you can lose weight healthily in the long term.

Foods that stimulate the metabolism

Much more important than individual foods, a varied and balanced diet with lots of vegetables, fruit and high-quality protein is recommended. Nevertheless, you can optimise your diet even further if you regularly incorporate a few specific foods into your diet.

Coffee and green tea

Works against fatigue and also against a sluggish metabolism! Drinking more water can also help to stimulate the metabolism.

Herbs and spices

With spiciness you can heat up your metabolism. Herbs and spices not only add more flavour to your diet, but also many valuable plant substances that your metabolism needs.

Citrus fruits and bitter substances

Bitter substances curb the appetite and activate the metabolism, so win-win for your diet!

Almased

Almased activates the metabolism with 80 bioactive peptides, honey enzymes and high-quality protein – proven in over 30 studies.

Attention: These factors inhibit the metabolism!

Beware of foods with a lot of sugar or alcohol – because quickly available carbohydrates can put the metabolism on the wrong track. They cause blood sugar to skyrocket and disrupt fat metabolism. Instead of burning energy, the body then prefers to store excess calories as fat.

Strong fluctuations in blood sugar can also promote cravings and block fat burning. Instead, focus on a balanced diet with plenty of protein, healthy fats and fibre - this will keep your metabolism active and in top shape!

Increasing energy consumption with sport – does it work?

Endurance or strength training is known to be good for your body and health, including your metabolism. Even small changes can help you get your metabolism and circulation going. Just try to get a little more exercise in your everyday life. For example, park a little further away from the entrance to the supermarket, take the stairs instead of the elevator or take a short walk around the office building during your lunch break.

Combined with the nutrition tips mentioned above, even light exercise works wonders. So, it doesn't have to be High Intensity Interval Training or weight training with heavy weights to fire up the energy metabolism.

That's why sleep is essential

Sleep is much more than rest – it is essential for a healthy metabolism. Too little sleep throws your hormones out of balance, increases stress levels and can slow down your metabolism. This can not only inhibit fat burning but also promote cravings.

Studies also show that 7-8 hours of restful sleep per night not only increases performance but also has a positive effect on life expectancy. So, give your body the regeneration it needs – your metabolism will thank you!

Your nutrition plan for an active metabolism

A well-functioning metabolism needs the right support – and that's where the Almased 4-Phase Plan comes in! Through the ideal combination of high-quality protein, important micronutrients and a targeted reduction of sugar and empty carbohydrates, it gets the metabolism going and increases energy consumption.

In the first phase of the plan, the body is converted to fat burning through unique Almased shakes, while in the following phases, a long-term healthy diet is established step by step. This keeps the metabolism active, energy levels rise, and the dreaded yo-yo effect doesn't stand a chance!

Evaluation of one's own metabolism - Is a metabolism test worth it?

In short: Most of the time, not. Metabolism is a highly complex interplay of hormones, genetics, nutrition and activity and cannot be reliably determined with a few questions or a simple test. Many providers use such tests primarily to sell additional products.

If you really want to optimise your metabolism, it is better to rely on a balanced diet, regular exercise and sufficient sleep - these are the real keys to an active metabolism!
